Pre - Planning For Filming!

After the research that we had all done together as a group and watched many opening sequences on YouTube. We decided that we needed to start planning our final piece. As we had an idea that we all liked and thought that would look good we started to now find locations, props, actors and gather all equipment that we would need.

We all sat down and had a discussion and made a shot list. This was when we decided to alter the story board a little, the story shall stay the same but the location would alter. At first we decided to shot in town outside a cafe' however people will be in the way and also getting somewhere that will let us film outside is a little difficult. So we decided to stay close to the school so it would be easy for us to edit and then go back and refilm anything that we would need.

The Location...

*Werrington Centre On the Bench
*Running through Werrington Centre
*Across the Pedestrian Crossing On Skaters Way
*Through the Alley Ways Near Cookoo's Hollow
*Along The Grass near the lake

Props And Costumes...

*A 'Look a Like' Gun
*Car
*Bag/Rucksack
*Mobile Phone
*Main Person Running wearing jeans, trainers and a hoody
*All Males going after him in suites, ties, and smart wear.

Actors...

As we wanted the film to be male based as we found males preferred this type of genre, we decided to only have males. Adam and Kiel volunteered to play a role in the scene, and then we thought of people that would fit the role. We asked a couple of our friends but for some of them it was inconvient. So we carried on asking and we found Liam, Ricky and Lee which were all happy to take part. For the car, Tom was also available on the morning which we had arranged so we asked him to be the driver, which also he was happy to do.

After the storyboard was complete, location, props and actors were all sorted all we had to do now was film. Instead of going straight into the whole thing we decided to do a rough cut first. This would then allow us to tackle any problems that we weren’t aware of or anything that needed correcting or taking out. So when we film the real thing it will be easier and we will be able to improve any of the previous imperfections.

Editing...

All of the editing consisted of straight cuts, we believed that this would be the most sensible thing to do as none of the effects that was on the software would match the look that we was trying to achieve. We realised there was a lot of shots that needed to be done again, for example the beginning and the end didn't come out as good as we hoped. So when it comes to refilming we are going to alter some of the scenes. Once we had seen the rough cut we decided that we needed some type of music rather than just background noise. Mainly because when it comes to editing all of the noises don’t go together unless the clips have been shot perfectly. Also the other reason because when the men in suits are chasing the main guy, it seems like its dragging on because there is nothing else happening. By putting in some music to fit it will allow the audience to be more suspense and more pulled in to the film by not knowing what is going on.
