After many discussions with the group we have finally come up with a final idea. We had many ideas which all were very good but as we thought through each idea we was still overcomplicating and if we had gone ahead it wouldn’t have looked as good as what we was hoping for.
We have decided that our film will be a thriller/gangster called 72 Hours. It will be about a man that witnesses a violent mob murder, and is dragged into two warring gangs feud. He is given 72 Hours and a couple of leads to find something for one of the gangs, what it is the audience do not know until the end of the film. The quick paced plot and narrative take many twists and turns along the way, but eventually the witness to the murder finds what the gangsters are looking for and double cross both gangs, single handily bringing both mob bosses to justice.
We have decided to stick to the idea that the end of the film is shown at the beginning. The audience are then hopefully drawn in and are questioning why they are after him? And what’s in the bag? Through the beginning the audience see the bag and get an extreme close up of the main character looking in the bag but never see what is suppose to be in there.
To enable us to get more of an idea of how to create the gangster and mob type films me and the group took out all different research to help us in as many ways as possible for example the shots that are typically used, the type of background music and also what type of age group go for this type of genre.
